💨 Abstract
S&P Global Ratings suggests India should develop a regional network of vital ports to maximize trade opportunities along its coastline, given its strategic position in the Indian Ocean region and the fact that over 90% of its trade is seaborne. India needs to implement appropriate policies for port development and management, focusing on increasing exports and handling bulk commodity imports, particularly energy and agricultural goods.
