Aluminium and copper production in India increased by 0.9% and 7.1% respectively during the April-February period of Financial Year 2024-25, according to Ministry of Mines data. India is the second-largest aluminium producer and fourth in iron ore production globally. However, the country imports the most aluminium scrap, hindering domestic industry growth.
