💨 Abstract

The GST Council has clarified that popcorn sold in loose form at movie theaters will continue to attract a 5% tax, the same as in restaurants. If popcorn is sold with a movie ticket, it will be considered a composite supply and taxed according to the principal supply (the ticket).
