💨 Abstract
Retail inflation in India reached a nine-month high of 5.49% in September 2024, due to a surge in vegetable prices and adverse weather conditions. The food basket inflation increased to 9.24% from 5.66% in August, with the annual inflation rate in vegetables reaching nearly 36%. The RBI has been asked to ensure the CPI inflation rate remains at 4% with a margin of 2%.
