In the municipal elections held in Haryana, the BJP won nine out of ten municipal corporations, securing a nearly absolute victory. The Congress failed to win any corporation, suffering a complete rout. The BJP also gained control of municipal councils, and defeated the Congress in Sonipat and Ambala, municipalities previously held by the Congress and Haryana Janchetna Party.
