💨 Abstract
The U.S. budget director, Shalanda Young, has urged Congress to promptly pass emergency disaster relief funding, as the Biden administration is preparing to submit a funding package in the coming days. The call comes after multiple damaging storms, including Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and other severe weather events in several states. The administration has made multiple requests for disaster aid since December 2022, but Congress has yet to act.
