💨 Abstract

Hurricane Helene caused widespread destruction across the Southeastern U.S., resulting in at least 89 deaths and millions left without power. South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Virginia, and Georgia were hit hardest, with South Carolina reporting the highest death toll at 25. Damage estimates range from $15 billion to over $100 billion. The storm also caused catastrophic flooding, damaged roads and bridges, and destroyed homes.
