đź’¨ Abstract
Indonesia plans to sell carbon credit certificates to international buyers from January 20th, 2023, to fund its carbon neutrality efforts. The certificates will be derived from emission reductions from power projects on Java island, worth 2.48 million metric tons of CO2e. Indonesia aims to reach net zero emissions by 2050, earlier than previously targeted, and intends to raise funds through carbon offset sales.
