💨 Abstract
A magnitude 5.8 earthquake occurred off the central Philippines, causing minor damage to buildings and a road in San Francisco, Leyte province. The shallow offshore quake had 45 aftershocks and no injuries were reported. The area is prone to seismic activity due to its location in the Pacific Ocean's "Ring of Fire". Authorities are still assessing the damage.
