💨 Abstract
Portugal plans to create a cluster of wind farms off its Atlantic coast, with a total capacity of around 10 gigawatts (GW) and aiming to install 2 GW by 2030. The government aims to attract investment and develop industry, and has approved four areas for offshore wind farm installation. A strategic environmental assessment has already been done, and the first offshore licence auction is planned for this year.
