💨 Abstract
Four major Canadian banks - TD Bank, Bank of Montreal, National Bank of Canada, and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) - have withdrawn from the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, a UN-sponsored initiative aiming to reduce the impact of climate change and achieve net-zero emissions. The banks cited their ability to develop climate strategies outside the alliance and noted that the space has evolved since the alliance's inception.
