Tropical Storm Helene is intensifying in the eastern Gulf of Mexico, threatening Florida with a life-threatening storm surge within two days. Over 40 million people in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama are under hurricane and tropical storm warnings. Numerous evacuations have been ordered along Florida's Gulf coast, and residents are advised to prepare for power outages for up to a week.
