💨 Abstract
In a lecture, Uttam Sinha discussed the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) of 1960, noting that Jawaharlal Nehru's lack of political challenges led him to sign it in hopes of buying peace with Pakistan. Nehru's suspicions about Pakistan's intentions were justified, as Pakistan later sought to claim more water. Since 2014, Pakistan has used the IWT to delay Indian projects.
