Charles Dolan, a pioneer in the cable industry and founder of HBO and Cablevision, passed away at 98. He launched HBO in 1972 and created Cablevision a year later, which was sold to Altice in 2017 for $17.7 billion. In 1986, he launched the first 24-hour regional cable news channel in the US.
