On his 58th birthday, AR Rahman launched the Bharat Maestro Awards, a collaboration with his music institute, KM Music Conservatory. The awards aim to honor the legacy of Indian classical music legends and nurture future music icons. The BMA will recognize exceptional young musicians, honor music legends, and acknowledge states fostering musical talent, while emphasizing the teacher-student relationship in Indian classical music.
