The Foundation of Indian Historical and Cultural Research, a new research hub, has been established to challenge the Eurocentric gaze in Indian scholarship. The fellowship is named after historian Jadunath Sarkar, who was marginalized post-Independence. Chandrachur Ghose, an environmentalist turned writer, is one of the eight fellows working on a history of Bengal.
