New Delhi: A recent encounter between former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar and Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor at the International League T20 in Dubai has sent fans across the subcontinent into a frenzy. The viral moment has been dubbed “real-life Kabir Singh meets reel Kabir Singh,” sparking a wave of reactions on social media.

The duo interacted in a casual, friendly manner surrounded by enthusiastic fans at the event. Akhtar shared videos of the encounter on Instagram, capturing the candid moment of the two of them chatting. He later also shared a second video, urging his followers to decode the conversation.

The footage showed Shoaib and Shahid sharing an affectionate embrace, followed by laughs and hearty conversation, with former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh joining in. Although the background noise lowered the sound quality, the camaraderie between the three was evident, with fans in the vicinity showing excitement and curiosity.

‘Kabir Singh X Pindi Express’

The meeting sparked a flurry of responses from fans on social media, each offering their own take on the encounter.

“Kabir Singh X Pindi Express,” Instagram user Waqas wrote. Many were quick to praise Akhtar, but there were complaints too.

“Shoaib bhai, you are a legend, no doubt. But I think we all need to show some attitude to them so that we get gratitude in return. Shahid is taking you for granted and giving more importance to Harbhajan Singh, which I don’t like. Being Pakistani, I want my heroes to be respected the way they deserve,” Instagram user Taimor Ahmad said.

Others echoed similar sentiments, with one user, Jerry, writing, “Shoaib sir, you are a brand in yourself. Try to build some domination.” Meanwhile, another user commented on Shoaib’s physique, saying, “Your body is more muscular than Shahid Kapoor’s. You look like his gym trainer.”

But it wasn’t just the die-hard fans of Shoaib Akhtar who weighed in. Some users got even more creative with their ideas. A Twitter user named @rambo shared a humorous suggestion: “Vanga and 100mph together in one movie is all we need. Shoaib won’t even have to act. It’s just natural for him to act deranged. Animal park, please make it happen, Vanga garu.”

Indian users pitched in too. “You were an ultimate entertianer on the field Shoib Sir. Though you had given a lot of pain to us,”@jayjogira wrote.

“Kabir Singh with Kabir Singh of fast bowling,” another user Nikhil Satish wrote on Instagram.

However, not all reactions were positive. Film critic Kamaal R. Khan, known for his blunt commentary, couldn’t resist taking a jab at both the cricketer and the actor. He tweeted, “Oh Bhai, tera career bhi khatam ho gaya aur uska bhi. Dono ghar par baithkar aaraam karo!” (Your careers are over. You both should just relax at home)
