💨 Abstract
A government-funded clinical trial in India found that consumption of advanced glycation end products (AGEs), found in foods such as cakes, chips, and fried foods, is a leading cause of India's high diabetes rates. AGEs lead to inflammation in the body, which can result in diabetes. Following a low-AGE diet can reduce oxidative stress and potentially mitigate the burden of obesity-linked type 2 diabetes.
