đ¨ Abstract
A study published in Production and Operations Management found that generic drugs made in India have a 54% higher rate of severe adverse events compared to those made in the US. This could be a concern for Indian drugmakers who export to the US, as 47% of total generic medicine sold in the US comes from India. The study took into account factors such as volume of drugs sold and found that mature generic drugs made in India are associated with the most serious adverse events.
