Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has appealed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar for the immediate release of 10 Indian fishermen arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy on January 8, 2025. The fishermen, from Mayiladuthurai and Nagapattinam districts, are solely dependent on fishing for their livelihood, and their apprehension would cause distress to their families.
