Assam's Guwahati received its first piped cooking gas connections, with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurating the first phase for 101 households. Sarma also opened the first CNG station in Barak Valley at Silchar and initiated piped gas projects in nearby areas. The projects are managed by Purba Bharati Gas Pvt Ltd, a joint venture of AGCL, OIL, and GAIL Gas.
