💨 Abstract

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu announced that the 150 km aerial distance rule for greenfield airports will no longer apply if the existing airport's capacity is saturated. The ministry is encouraging states to develop second airports in metro cities. Naidu also mentioned that the Noida International Airport at Jewar is nearing completion and is expected to be inaugurated soon. He highlighted efforts to create airports for future needs, especially in tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
