💨 Abstract
Twenty-seven Muslim inmates, including a British woman on death row, are observing the nine-day Navratri fast at a district jail in Shahjahanpur, UP. They also participated in traditional prayers and a ritual offering. The jail administration provided food and prayer materials for the fasting inmates. The British woman, Ramanpreet Kaur, was convicted of murdering her husband in 2016 and sentenced to death in 2023.
