💨 Abstract

Ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections, police have seized nine country-made pistols and arrested eight individuals in Palghar district. The arrests were made following a raid in July, leading to the discovery of more weapons and live cartridges. The accused, hailing from Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, are suspected of purchasing and supplying firearms, and have been charged under the Arms Act.
