Maharashtra's Environment and Climate Change minister, Pankaja Munde, held a meeting to address Mumbai's deteriorating air quality, which was in the 'unhealthy for sensitive groups' category on January 2. The Air Quality Index had improved slightly from 175 (poor category) on January 1, but particulate matter levels remained a concern.
