💨 Abstract
The Allahabad High Court has expressed displeasure over the delay by Lucknow Development Authority and Lucknow Municipal Corporation in demolishing illegal constructions, declared unauthorised decades ago. The court ordered the Principal Secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Planning to propose measures to deal with these constructions and explain why large-scale constructions were allowed despite orders for demolition. The court also asked for measures to prevent future violations and conversion of residential areas into commercial ones.
