The Andhra Pradesh Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) arrested Balaji Govindappa, an executive director at Bharati Cement Pvt Ltd, in Mysore in connection with a Rs 3,200 crore liquor scam alleged to have occurred during the previous YSRCP regime. Govindappa is one of several accused in the case. The SIT searched his Hyderabad residence before the arrest.
