In Bhubaneswar, Odisha, anti-corruption officials detained a doctor and a pharmacist from a government hospital for accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from a contractual nursing officer. The doctor, Dr. Biswajit Bhuyan, was demanding the bribe in exchange for processing the nursing officer's arrear payment, which she was entitled to after the government ordered the release of differential financial benefits.
