A businessman from Assam's Hailakandi district, Nitiranjan Roy, was among the 30 pilgrims killed in a stampede at the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday. Roy had gone to the mela with his family last week. His body will be airlifted to Silchar either on Wednesday or Thursday.
