💨 Abstract

The Barpeta District Jail in Assam has transformed into an agricultural hub, growing a variety of crops, fruits, and vegetables, including rare ones like apple berries. The inmates are engaged in farming activities, which helps reduce their stress and teaches them a new skill for post-release life. The initiative generates revenue for the government and keeps the prisoners engaged. The jail authorities plan to expand the farming area and explore outside markets this year.
