The Bombay High Court has ordered the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) to pay an additional Rs 10 lakh in compensation to a boy who lost his leg due to medical negligence at a TMC-run hospital in 2010. The court emphasized the importance of upholding basic human rights, especially in cases of medical negligence, and called for authorities to become genuinely conscious of their duties and fundamental rights of the affected.
