Mahant Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, passed away at a hospital in Lucknow on Wednesday following a brain stroke. He was 85 years old and had been serving as the priest since the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992.
