Former Mokama MLA Anant Singh, a gangster-turned-politician with a controversial past, surrendered in court on Jan 24 over a shooting incident in Patna. His convoy was attacked by the Sonu-Monu gang, leading to an exchange of gunfire. Singh, who was wanted by police, was sent to Beur jail.
