The opposition BJD in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has announced a six-hour shutdown on Tuesday, protesting the alleged assault and custodial torture of an Army officer and his fiancée by the police. BJD president Naveen Patnaik has demanded a court-monitored SIT probe and a judicial inquiry into the matter.
