The BJP disputed West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's claim about her government's role in establishing a semiconductor facility in West Bengal. BJP's IT department head Amit Malviya asserted that it was PM Narendra Modi's efforts that led to Kolkata having a semiconductor presence, and India already has five approved semiconductor units, including one in Assam.
