The CBI has registered an FIR against former Director General Coastguard K Natrajan for allegedly tampering with the Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) of senior officers. The Defense Ministry had sent a reference to the CBI regarding manipulations in the confidential personal records of senior officers. After a preliminary enquiry, the CBI found "instances of alteration" in ACR dossiers and missing Non-Initiation Certificates (NICs).
