💨 Abstract

The CBI has filed an appeal in the Calcutta High Court seeking the death penalty for Sanjay Roy, convicted for raping and murdering a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The West Bengal government has also filed a similar appeal. The hearing is scheduled for January 27. The CBI argues that the life sentence given by the trial court is inadequate.
