On May 2, bomb threats via email led to extensive search operations at the offices of Chamarajanagara and Raichur Deputy Commissioners in Karnataka. The threats claimed RDX-based IEDs were placed in the Raichur DEO building. After a thorough search by police and bomb disposal squads, no suspicious objects were found, and the threats were determined to be a hoax. The offices were safely evacuated following the incident.
