💨 Abstract

Chief Justice of India, Bhushan Ramkrishna Gavai, was sworn in on May 14, 2025, becoming the 52nd CJI and the first Buddhist and second Dalit to hold the position. He succeeded Justice Sanjiv Khanna. Gavai, aged 64, will serve until November 23, 2025.
