💨 Abstract

During the Sankranti festival in Andhra Pradesh, villages and towns have been hosting a three-day event featuring the controversial blood sport of cockfights and associated gambling. Thousands of roosters are pitted against each other, equipped with sharp knives tied to their legs. The cockfights are major gambling attractions, with betting estimated to involve hundreds of crores of rupees.
