Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has requested a SIT probe into a mining tragedy in Assam that resulted in the death of four laborers. He accused illegal mining of persisting due to weak law enforcement and local complicity. Gogoi also wrote to the prime minister urging action against those responsible, addressing safety, corruption, and environmental concerns, and preventing future incidents.
