In Kolhapur, the Congress party has announced support for independent candidate Rajesh Latkar in the assembly election, following Madhurima Raje's sudden withdrawal as their official candidate. This decision was made after a meeting between local leaders and Congress in-charge for Maharashtra. Madhurima Raje is married to Malojirao Chhatrapati, the younger son of Kolhapur MP Shahu Maharaj Chhatrapati.
