💨 Abstract
A consumer commission in Nagpur, Maharashtra, ordered four employees of a state-run power company to pay Rs 10 lakh to a farmer whose bamboo crop was destroyed by a fire caused by faulty power lines. The commission found the officials negligent in maintaining the power lines, leading to a deficiency in service. The farmer had initially received only Rs 4.2 lakh in compensation, but the commission directed the payment of the full assessed damage of Rs 10.27
