💨 Abstract
A Delhi court has sentenced a 40-year-old man, convicted of aggravated sexual assault on a minor, to five years in prison, the time he has already served. The court noted that excessive punishment is not in the interest of justice or society. The convict, who was a neighbor of the survivor, was found to have violated the trust placed in him. The court also awarded the survivor Rs 8.25 lakh in compensation.
