💨 Abstract

The Supreme Court has ordered the Centre not to denotify or make appointments related to waqf properties registered under the 1995 Waqf Act until May 5. The order was welcomed by political parties CPI(M), Congress, and the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), who view it as a relief for secular groups and an effective defense against the Centre's amendment of the Waqf Act.
