đź’¨ Abstract
India has lodged a protest with China over the creation of two new counties in Hotan prefecture, claiming parts of these counties fall in India's Union Territory of Ladakh. India asserts that China's actions will not legitimize its "illegal and forcible" occupation in the region. The move comes after the resumption of boundary talks between the two countries, which were stalled for almost five years.
