💨 Abstract

The authorities in Manipur's Kangpokpi district imposed a curfew on two neighboring villages, Konsakhul and Leilon Vaiphei, due to simmering tension between the villages after an alleged assault on a Naga woman by Kuki youths. The district has been experiencing ethnic violence between Kuki and Meitei communities since May 2023, causing over 250 deaths and displacing thousands.
