Delhi Police arrested five professional thieves, residents of Shaheen Bagh and Sarita Vihar, for stealing copper cables from metro tracks in at least seven incidents. The accused were drug addicts with a history of similar crimes. Three were initially arrested, and the two masterminds were apprehended with assistance from Kolkata Police. The police recovered 28 meters of stolen copper cable and Rs 5,000 in cash.
