The Supreme Court of India is set to issue guidelines on the demolition of properties, applicable to all citizens and institutions nationwide. The court clarified that being an accused or convict cannot be a reason for property demolition. The court emphasized its secular approach and stated that there should not be a different law for any particular religion. The court also stated that it will not protect unauthorized constructions on public roads, government lands, or forests.
