💨 Abstract
Eight miners remain trapped in an abandoned coal mine in Assam's Dima Hasao district, where dewatering has been ongoing for two days to facilitate rescue operations. The mine, which was legally under the Assam Mineral Development Corporation till three years ago, was not illegal as initially suspected. The 'sardar' of the miners, who had fled after the mine was flooded, has been arrested.
